A useful visual comparison needs the same light direction, white balance and distance. Show one overview and a few clearly labelled crops; write down whether the image was edited or supplied by somebody else.

Choose one feature per crop, such as text alignment or the edge of a marker. Sharpening and compression can create apparent differences, so retain the original file for the discussion.

How should conflicting photographs be handled?

Keep both originals and explain the capture conditions. If those conditions cannot be established, record the uncertainty instead of turning a visual impression into a definite manufacturing claim.
